Do you have what it takes?

This year, the Stairclimb is gearing up to be our most challenging event yet! The 9th annual Firefighter Stairclimb will be held in person at Calgary’s tallest tower, Brookfield Place. At 57 stories and 1,370 steps, this venue offers firefighters access to the highest stairclimb challenge in Canada!

Originally inspired by Kathy Blas, sister of local fallen firefighter Gord Paul, the event supports firefighters and citizens in our community who are fighting cancer, with proceeds going towards Wellspring Alberta. This event is made possible thanks to the generous support and involvement of the Calgary Fire Department, the International Association of Firefighters Local 255 and our event sponsors.

How it Works

Firefighters from all over the world come together to compete and climb – all while raising money for Wellspring Alberta! Participants climb 1370 stairs in firefighter gear.

Why We Climb

Cancer is a prevalent occupational hazard of the firefighter’s job. Proceeds from this event ensure Wellspring Alberta can provide supportive care to firefighters and citizens with cancer.

Volunteer

The Challenge is only possible thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers who help on event day. From bag check, to tank removal, our volunteers help with all aspects of the live event!
