Together, we raised $371,785 in 2026 for those facing cancer through Wellspring Alberta. This means, since 2015, this event has raised $3.7 million. Thank you to all of the firefighters, supporters, sponsors and partners who make this event possible.
Every firefighter who takes on the 1,370 steps at Brookfield Place has a story, and together, our stories become something bigger. This event is more than the challenge to reach the top. It’s about the friendships, the encouragement, and the shared commitment to making sure no one has to face cancer alone.
Planning for next year is already underway. Stay tuned — we can’t wait to share what’s ahead!
How it Works
Firefighters from all over the world come together to compete and climb – all while raising money for Wellspring Alberta! Participants climb 1370 stairs in modified firefighter gear.
Why We Climb
Cancer is a prevalent occupational hazard of the firefighter’s job. Proceeds from this event ensure Wellspring Alberta can provide supportive care to firefighters and citizens with cancer.
Volunteer
The Challenge is only possible thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers who help on event day. From bag check, to tank removal, our volunteers help with all aspects of the live event!
