Calgary Stairclimb 2020

Virtual Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge

Welcome to the 2020 Virtual Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge. We are pleased to announce that the stairclimb will take place July 20 – July 26 as a virtual event!

While we know that it will be hard to replicate the enthusiastic encouragement provided by our event volunteers, or to come close to the stunning views of the river thanks to the glass staircase of the Bow Building, we know that you understand our deep desire to ensure the safety of our vital and celebrated first responders and volunteers. Plus, we are up for a challenge! As we have done with Wellspring Calgary program delivery, we hope to make this virtual event the best experience possible! And just think … now your family can join in the fun!

If you registered for the 2020 Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge, all of your donations and fundraising will be transferred to the 2020 Virtual Stairclimb.

Our Partners

Cancer is a prevalent occupational hazard of the firefighter’s job.  Proceeds from this event ensure Wellspring Calgary can provide supportive care to firefighters and citizens living with cancer.  This is made possible thanks to the generous support and involvement of the Calgary Fire Department, the International Association of Firefighters Local 255, H&R Reit, and our event sponsors.

VIRTUAL FIREFIGHTER STAIRCLIMB CHALLENGE

July 20-26, 2020

This year marks the 6th Annual Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge in support of Wellspring Calgary.  Originally inspired by Kathy Blas, sister of local fallen firefighter Gord Paul, the event and its proceeds support firefighters and citizens in our community who are fighting cancer. Wellspring Calgary is pleased to announce Wellspring will gift a portion of proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS).

In support of Wellspring Calgary

Wellspring Calgary provides programs, resources and support to people affected by cancer.  Because a prevalent occupational hazard of the firefighter’s job is cancer, Wellspring works to ensure the needs of firefighters are considered alongside the needs of all its community members.  Wellspring Calgary is proud to work with the Calgary Fire Department, and the Calgary Firefighters Association (IAFF Local 255) in support of those living with cancer including brave members of our firefighting community.
