Are you tougher and faster than Fire Chief Steve Dongworth?
Anyone is invited to register and take on Calgary Fire Chief Steve Dongworth in this thrilling toe to toe competition! Participants must raise a minimum of $5,000 before showing up to race the Chief up 1,370 steps to the top of Calgary’s tallest tower: Brookfield Place. To make the race fair, you’ll be fitted in full firefighter duty gear (provided) – up to 45lbs of weight! Proceeds support Wellspring Alberta and all people living with cancer.
Challenge the Chief will kick off the main Firefighter Stairclimb on June 11, with a victor declared at the end.
How it Works
You will receive:
- A fitting with firefighter gear (helmet, pants, jacket, SCBA, harness, boots) once your $5,000 minimum commitment has been met
- Photo op with Fire Chief Steve Dongworth
- Personalized online donation/fundraising page and link
- Social media posts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram mentioning the challenger’s name and business (where applicable)
How can I volunteer?
The Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge is only possible thanks to a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers who help on event day. From bag check, to tank removal, our volunteers help with all aspects of the live event!
